High Courts In Imo State not sat in five years, appoint more judges, PCC appeals to Gov. Okorocha

IMG_20160415_123139(1)The Public Complaints Commission wants the Imo state government and the National Judicial Service
Commission to appoint more Judges in the state to address delays experienced in dispensation of
justice.
The Head, Public Complaints Commission in Imo State Chief Ambrose Ugboaja made the appeal
during a news conference in Owerri.
Chief Ugboaja observed that many high courts in the state have not sat for the past five years due to
inadequate number of Judges.
He pointed out that the situation had led litigants to either resort to self-help or unorthodox
tribunals to seek redress.
Chief Ugboaja explained that the Commission received a total of four hundred and five petitions in
two thousand and fifteen out of which three hundred and two cases were resolved while one
hundred and three were still pending.
He said the Commission was established by an Act of parliament to address administrative injustice
in all tiers of government and organizations established by law.
Chief Ugboaja therefore called on the people of the state to always oblige the Commission of
necessary information that would help entrench good governance.
