GOV UZODINMA PROMISES JOB OPPORTUNITIES AND OTHER SUPPORT TO WIVES OF FALLEN HEROES

Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, has called for a united Nigeria that will ensure national integration and cooperation.

He made the call at the 2021 Armed Forces and Remembrance Day celebration held at Heroes Square Owerri.

The Armed Forces Remembrance Day was held to pay respect to fallen soldiers who gave their lives for the good of the country.

Ot the occasion in Owerri, Governor Hope Uzodinma claimed that the Nigerian Army had remained the best in the world, noting that they were not only energetic and patriotic but willing to fight the course of the nation whenever they were called upon.

The Governor reassured wives of fallen heroes of his administration’s readiness to continue to support, encourage and fix them in jobs that would help them to sustain their families.

Governor Uzodinma also assured the entire Armed Forces that his government would partner them in the task of defending the territorial integrity of the nation.

The event came to its climax when the Governor, heads of security agencies and other dignitaries laid the wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier.

The event also witnessed the traditional 21 gunshot salute, the releasing of white pigeon, which symbolized peace just as prayers were offered for the nation by both Christian and Muslim clerics.
