GOV UZODIMMA VOWS TO REVIVE MORIBUND FACTORIES IN IMO

Imo State Government says it is taking steps to establish new industries and revamp moribund ones to boost the economy of the state.

The state Governor, Chief Hope Uzodimma, announced this during an interaction with members of the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Owerri.

He said government was collaborating with a foreign based organization to establish new industries, noting that efforts were being intensified to put necessary infrastructure in place to the support businesses at the industrial park located on Owerri- Onitsha expressway.

Governor Uzodimma alleged that equipment, which were looted from Nsu Tiles Industry in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of the state by a former administration in the state, were found at a warehouse in Aba road.

He assured the people of the state that the machines would soon be returned to the factory.

On security, Chief Uzodimma said South East Governors were working out modalities to establish a regional security outfit that would help address security concerns of the area.

The Governor said his administration was ensuring prompt payment of salaries and pensions to all verified staff under its employ and challenged those alleging selective payments to substantiate their claims with evidence.
