Imo State Government says the administration will continue to provide basic health care to address health challenges facing rural communities.

The State Governor, Chief Hope Uzodimma, made this known at the inauguration of a 4-2 bed Senator Arthur Nzeribe Memorial Hospital Oguta.

Governor Uzodimma reassured the people of the area of his determination to utilise the 13% oil derivation due to them and urged the benefitting community to secure government properties by shunning violence.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Prosper Ohayaha, explained that the hospital would serve as a secondary health care facility, fully equipped to admit people.

Earlier in a welcome address, the Board Chairman of Imo State Oil Producing and Development Commission (ISOPADEC), Professor Dele Odigbo, said the government desire was to build multinational hospital that would provide healthcare services for both diagnostic and treatment purposes.

The highlight of the event was inspection of the hospital from accident and emergency unit to the ward.
