ENUGU STATE : GOV. UGWUANYI INAUGURATES A ROAD LINKING ABAKPA AND EMENE COMMUNITIES IN ENUGU

The Enugu State Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has inaugurated the Nike Lake-Harmony Estate-Adoration ground-Amoji Nike Road to mark his five years in office as he emphasized on improving livelihood of the citizens.

Residents of Abakpa and Emene both in Enugu East Local Government Area can now heave a sigh of relief following the completion of the new thirteen-point-eight Kilometer bypass road linking both communities  and other major roads leading to both northern and southern parts of the country.

At the event, Governor Ugwuanyi said his administration would continue to focus on urban and rural development to improve lives and well being of the citizens. He said that road was one of the most important public assets for the economic growth and development of a nation with all its attendant social benefits.

According to Governor Ugwuanyi, the smoothness of the road would speed up transport services, aid conveyance of farms produce and save lives.

The Spiritual Director, Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria, the Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, commended Governor Ugwuanyi for speedy construction of the road which was bare and dusty as at April 2019.

“Today, the new look is why everyone, including the stake holders and the governor are here to celebrate,” Rev. Father Mbaka said.

Also a resident, Mr. Henry Okeke, expressed satisfaction with the project, saying that creating road from a thick bush is a thing of joy
