GOV. UGWUANYI ASSIGNS PORTFOLIOS TO 19 COMMISSIONERS, 7 SPECIAL ADVISERS

The Enugu State Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has assigned portfolios to the nineteen commissioners and seven special advisers sworn-in last week Wednesday to implement the four point agenda of his administration. A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Simon Ortuanya, indicats that Chief Miletus Eze retains his portfolio as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice; Mr. Greg Nnaji remains in-charge of the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure; Professor Uchenna Eze is retained as Education Commissioner; while princess Peace Nnaji is  the Commissioner for Gender Affairs and Social Development.

Other commissioners who are deployed to various ministries included Mr. Chijioke Edeoga, Environment; Mr. Chidi Aroh, Information; Mr. Emeka Mamah, Rural Development; Mr. Vitus Okechi, Youth and Sports; and Mr. Solomon Onah is assigned the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Also, Mrs. Adaonah Kene-Uyanwune takes charge of Ministry of Finance; Professor Anthony Ugochukwu serves as the Commissioner for Health; Dr. Charles Egumgbe is to handle Chieftaincy Matter; Chief Mathias Ekweremadu will man Transport; Mr. Uchechukwu Ogbonna takes charge of Labour and Productivity; Mrs. Mabel Agbo takes over Special Duties; Mr. Peter Okonkwo is the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs; Mr. Obi Carl Kama will handle Ministry of Science and Technology; Mr. Ugonna Ibe is for Culture and Tourism; while Dr. Victor Nnam is the Commissioner forLands and Urban Development.

The seven Special Advisers duly assigned portfolios include Mr. Steve Oruruo, Information; Mrs. Olangwa Ezekwu for Diaspora matters; Mr. Uwakwe Azikiwe, Special Duties; Mr. Uchenna Ogbodo, Human Development and Poverty Reductio; Dr. Kingsley Udeh, Education, Mrs. Obiageli Abba, PDI and Mr. Paschal Ukwuani is for Youth and Sports.

The release further states that other outstanding commissioners and their ministries will be announced in due course after screening and confirmation procedures are completed by the Enugu State House of Assembly.
