GOV. UGWUANYI AND NNIA NWODO SUPPORT PETER OBI’S VICE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDACY

The Vice Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) and former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, says his emergence as Alhaji AtikuAbubakar’s running mate is for the benefit of all Nigerians including people from Igbo extraction.

Mr. Obi made this known when he visited the Enugu State Governor, Chief IfeanyiUgwuanyi, in company of his entourage at the EXCO Chambers Government House, Enugu.

He said his candidacy would open doors for Ndigbo in the area of infrastructure development.

Responding, the Enugu State Governor, Chief Ugwuanyi, described the visit as symbolic and commended the party for the peaceful congress held in Port Harcourt, River State.

Meanwhile, the President General of OhanezeNdigbo, Chief NniaNwodo, who was later visited by the entourage of the Vice Presidential candidate said the nomination of Peter Obi by PDP responded to the yearnings of the marginalization of Ndigbo.

Correspondent reports that the Vice Presidential candidate was on a consultation tour to PDP leaders in South East zone.
