GOV OTTI PLEDGES COMMITMENT TO PRUDENT RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

Governor Alex Otti of Abis State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improve on the development index rate of the state through financial prudence and people oriented governance.

Governor Otti made this known when he received a delegation of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) led by the 59th President of the Institute, Dr. Innocent Okwuosa in Government House, Umuahia.

The Governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Kenneth Kalu, explained that rebuilding Abia is not an easy task, stressing that partnering agents, such as ICAN, would make the job easier.

He applauded the 59th President of the Institute for starting his first official engagement in the country with Abia State after his investiture as the President and wished them well in Abia State.

Earlier, the President, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN, Dr. Innocent Okwuosa pledged the Institute’s maximum support to the present administration’s drive for financial transparency and integrity.

Dr. Okwuosa commended Governor Alex Otti for his willingness and commitment in rebuilding Abia State, which had shown in his immediate tackling of some challenges of the state, especially the agreessive clean up of the environment.

The delegation expressed appreciation to the Governor for appointing their members into critical positions in his administration.
