GOV OTTI ADVOCATES REPOSITIONING OF NYSC

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has called for ways to reposition the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) with a view to enhancing greater efficiency and effective service delivery.

Governor Otti made the call in a message to the ceremony for the swearing in of 2023 Batch B stream 1 corps members deployed to Abia State at the NYSC permanent orientation camp Umunna, Bende Local Government Area.

The Governor represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr. Chinedu Ekeke, said the the scheme had over the years grown to be an effective tool for National integration and unity.

He described the scheme as a vehicle for mobilizing youths towards reorientation and national development.

Governor Otti pointed out that the Scheme had over the years impacted positively on the psyche of the Nigerian youths and contributed immensely to the
development of the country.

Earlier, the NYSC Abia State Coordinator, Mrs. Dick Ufuoma, enjoined the corps members to obey all camp rules and regulations in order to achieve a successful orientation course.

She urged them to be security conscious at all times and avoid all forms of social vices.
