GOV IKPEAZU EXTOLS REAR ADMIRAL NDUBUISI KANU AT COMMENDATION SERVICE

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has described the late Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu as a gallant military officer who, during his life time, fought against injustice, oppression and marginalization of the masses.

Governor Ikpeazu made this known during the commendation service organized for the late Rear Admiral in Umuahia.

He noted that the late former military Governor of old Imo and Lagos States was a reputable stateman of note whose legacies cut across all facets of human endeavors.

Governor Ikpeazu stated that as part of plans to immortalize the name of the late Ndubuisi Kanu, his administration would sponsor candidates that would be heading to national Institute of Policy and Strategic Study, Jos, every year under the name Ndubuisi Kanu scholarship award.

In a message, the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo, represented by Rear Admiral Obi Egbuchulam, while going down the memory lane of the life and times of late Rear Admiral Ndubisi Kanu during his days in the Navy, described the death of the Naval officer as an irrepressible loss to the family, Abia State and Nigeria in general.

In remark, a former Governor of Imo State, Chief Ikedi Ohakim, extolled some of the quality leadership triats of the late Rear Admiral and urged the people to emulate his virtues.
