FRSC INAUGURATES MOBILE SPEED CONTROL PATROL TEAM IN ANAMBRA

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it has inaugurated Mobile Speed Control Patrol Team across the country to avert road crashes.

The Route Commander Public Education Officer Anambra State Command, Mr. Pascal Anigbo, stated this in an interview with Radio Nigeria in Awka.

Mr. Anigbo enumerated Mechanical, Environmental and Human factors as three elements that could lead to road crashes.

Emphasizing on Human factor, the Route Commander called on drivers to use seat belts and also not to use mobile phones while driving.

Mr. Anigbo explained that the command had been organizing public enlightenment programmes where they educated road users on the dangers of over-speeding, overloading, adherence to traffic signs among others.

He said that the command had established mobile court to prosecute traffic offenders.

The Route Commander also cautioned drivers, especially commercial vehicles to be conscious of the on-going road construction at the Enugu Onitsha dual carriage way.

He specifically warned them against overtaking dangerously to avert road crashes.
