Reporter : LAWRENCE NWOKEDI
Property and documents worth millions of naira have been gutted by fire at the Federal Ministry of Works Umuahia, Abia State.
When Radio Nigeria visited the scene of the fire incident, the adminstrative block of the ministry had been raised by the inferno.
According to an eye witness at the scene of the disaster, the fire started around 10am on Sunday and the cause of the fire incident is yet to be known.
Meanwhile the later intervention of the men of the Federal Fire Service forestalled the fire from spreading into other buildings.
Efforts made by Radio Nigeria to speak with the Federal Controller of Works Abia State on the incident was unsuccessful as he could not be reached.
