FILM PRODUCER APPEALS FOR DOWNWARD REVIEW OF TAXES AND LEVIES CHARGED PRODUCERS IN ENUGU STATE

An Enugu based film Director, Mr. Afam Okereke, has appealed to the Enugu State Government to review its taxes and levies on film production to boost the industry and economy of the state.

Mr. Okereke made the appeal while addressing journalists in Enugu on the challenges and cost implications of shooting films especially in Enugu State.

He maintained that the challenges had driven film producers and their auxiliary agencies out of the state, saying that the develpoment was having negative impact on the economy.

Mr. Okereke said that he was disturbed by the level of moral decadence among youths and pledged to use movies to change the thinking of youths and make them more productive.

Speaking on one of his recent movie, Mr. Okereke said the lessons were an eye opener for parents to guide their children properly in making wise decision in life.
