FG INAUGURATES TRADER MONI SCHEME IN OWERRI

The Federal Government says it will continue to encourage small and medium scale enterprises through the provision of facilities to all manner of persons wishing to contribute positively to the growth of the economy.

The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, stated this at the inauguration of the Federal Government loan scheme to petty traders tagged “Trader Moni Scheme” in Owerri Imo State.

He said the scheme was targeted at Nigerians who required less capital to grow their businesses but noted that those who kept faith with the repayment plan would be considered for more assistance.

Professor Osinbajo explained that the Buhari led administration was committed to even distribution of the nation’s wealth among the federating units, irrespective of tribe or political inclination.

The Vice President, who inspected the cargo section of the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri, had on arrival noted that the project when completed would not only boost the economy of the South East Zone but that of the entire country.

The Imo State Governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha, said the state government was collaborating with traditional rulers to ensure the setting up of small scale industries in all the communities in the state.

The event got to its climax when Professor Osinbajo disbursed ₦10,000 cheques to traders at the Relief Market Owerri.
