ENUGU STATE TRANSPORT COMMISSIONER LAID TO REST

Christian faithful have been admonished to to seek heavenly, rather than earthly treasures to inherit eternal life.

The Bishop of Awgu-Aninri Diocese, Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, the Right Reverend Benson Ndubuisi Chukwunweike, gave the admonition during the funeral service of former Enugu State Commissioner for Transport, Mr. Mathias Ekweremadu Junior, at Community Primary School Mpu, Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State.

In a sermon with the theme “Do Not Waste that Grace,” the Right Reverend Chukwunweike, says that God forgives the sin, saves all who come to Him through His Son and sets each saved individual free from condemnation.

He condoled with the wife, children and the entire Ekweremadu family, urging them not to despair, but look unto Jesus Christ as their shield and buckler in this trying period.

An elder brother of the deceased, Bright, who spoke on behalf of the entire Ekweremadu family thanked all who attended the burial, and promised to take adequate care of the children of his late younger brother.

Enugu State Governor, Mr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, and his Deputy, Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo, led a delegation of top government officials and political stalwarts from across the country to the event.

Aged 55, Mathias Ekweremadu Junior was until his death on February 4, 2021, the Enugu State Commissioner for Transport, represented Aninri State Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, and was a former Local Government Chairman of Aninri Local Government Area.
