ENUGU MEDICAL DIAGNOSTIC CENTRE NOW ISOLATION AND TREATMENT CENTRE FOR COVID-19

The Enugu State Government has approved the newly built medical diagnostic centre as the State’s Isolation and Treatment Centre. This approval was made as part of measures to tackle the dreadful COVID-19 pandemic ravaging the world.

The State Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi officially approved the use of the structure while monitoring level of compliance on restriction of movement placed on the State on Tuesday, thirty-first of March 2020.

While monitoring compliance level at Ogbete Main Market, Old Artiazan Market, and Polo Park Mall in company of security operatives, the Governor advised those who came out to go home until it was safe again to do so.

He said that the restrictions were to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the State.

This is coming twenty four hours after the closure of all land borders and markets across the State except those dealing in foods, pharmaceuticals and other basic life essentials.

On 28th of March, two cases of  Corona Virus, COVID-19, were confirmed in the State when two returnees from the United Kingdom voluntarily presented themselves to the State’s Ministry of Health for test and are currently being treated.
