Enugu Governor Weeps At Scene Of Herdsmen Attack

The Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Tuesday, April 26, could not hold back tears when he visited Ukpabi, Nimbo, in Uzo-Uwani local government area of the state, where Fulani herdsmen had slaughtered many residents on Monday.

The Governor was accompanied to the area by the Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Nwodibo Ekechukwu, the GOC 82 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru, the Enugu State Commandant, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

It was reported that about 300 herdsmen invaded the community with guns and machetes, killing over 40 people and leaving hundreds injured.

According to the report,  many survivors, with varying degrees of injuries on the head, neck, and other parts of the body are currently receiving treatment in different hospitals in Nsukka.
