#ENDSARS: GOV IKPEAZU IMPOSES 24 HRS CURFEW ON ABA & UMUAHIA

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has imposed a twenty-four hour curfew in Umuahia and Aba from 6pm Wednesday till further notice.

The Governor made this known in statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okeiyi Kalu, in Umuahia.

According to the statement, the curfew is as a result of attack by some yet to be identified hoodlums under the agies of #EndSARS protest on a team of Police officers on official duty around Azikiwe Road by Asa Road in Aba.

The statement said hoodlums numbering over thirty attacked the Police, killed one of the officers and also carted away their arms and ammunition even though one of the suspected attackers was apprehended with gunshot injuries.

The hoodlums also attacked a Police station in Aba.

The Governor approved a cash reward of Five Million Naira to anyone with useful information that could lead to the arrest of the hoodlums.

Governor Ikpeazue equally approved a sum of One Million Naira as reward for each authentic video evidence on brutality and extrajudicial killings by security agents in the state to the Judicial Panel of Inquiry being inaugurated to investigate the incidents.

He advised parents and guardians to monitor the activities of their children and wards to ensure that they were not engaged in nefarious activities that could cause mayhem in the State.
