EBONYI TO DISTRIBUTE PETROL SUBSIDY PALLIATIVE 1ST WEEK OF OCT—COMMISSIONER

REPORTER: AMECHI ODO

Ebonyi State Government is to commence the distribution of palliatives to cushion the effect of subsidy removal by the Federal Government from first week of October, 2023.

The State Commissioner for Human Capital Development, Mrs. Ann Aligwe, gave the hint in an interview with Radio Nigeria in Abakaliki.

Mrs. Aligwe, who is a member of the Palliative Distribution Committee set up by the state government, explained that the foodstuff would be distributed through the local governments, noting that the Governor wants the palliatives to get to the less privileged.

Mrs. Aligwe said the state government had got 60% of the palliatives from the Federal Government and blamed the delay in the distribution of the items on late supply of the share of the state .

She added that Governor Francis Nwifuru directed that additional bags of rice, Beans and Garri be procured to augment what the state had received from the Federal Government.
