REPORTER: AMECHI ODO

Ebonyi State Government says it has gotten approval from the state House of Assembly for the borrowing of ten billion Naira as loan.

Briefing journalists at the end of this week’s State Executive Council meeting at Government House Abakaliki, the State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Uchenna Orji, explained that the loan was to enable the State Government to purchase some equipment for the Airport project.

He noted that the state government would seek the loan from the Federal Government, maintaining that Governor Umahi briefed President Muhammadu Buhari on the issue during his recent visit to the state.

Chief Orji said four Commissioners resigned their appointments to enable them to pursue their endeavours elsewhere.

Chief Orji added that the state government had approved #2.7 billion for an empowerment programme due to commence next month.
