EBONYI COVID-19: STATE GOVT. BANS VEHICULAR MOVEMENT

Ebonyi State Government has banned passenger and other commercial vehicles from moving in and out of the State beginning from 28th of this month as part of measures to prevent Covid – 19.

A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Kenneth Ugbala explains that vehicles exempted from the restriction order are those conveying food stuff, medicine, oil and gas. The statement warns that roads leading in and out of the State will be barricaded from the said date while drivers who violate the order will be arrested and their vehicles impounded.

According to the statement, residents of the State are to stay where they are till the spread of Covid-19 is curbed.  The latest ban on movement of vehicles is coming at the heels of a series of social restriction orders that have been applied in the State.
