DEHUMANIZATION OF 12 YEAR OLD GIRL, POLICE ARRAIGN SUSPECTED GUARDIAN

The Police Command in Anambra State has arraigned the woman who allegedly abused a young girl recently by putting pepper inside her private part in awka.

The suspect, Mrs. Charity Effiong, Who is said to be a civil servant and indigenes of Cross River State, was charged for assault .

In an interview, the Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra State , Mr. Haruna Muhammed, said the command would continue to protect and respect the rule, including constitutional rights of children.

He therefore advised parents and guardians to know that exposing a child to moral danger is an offence.

Mr. Muhammed noted that issues of torture and molestation of children are totally a violation of their rights.

A good Samaritan last week found twelve year old girl wandering about at half past ten in the evening after her guardian, Charity Effiong, allegedly put red pepper into her private part claiming she stole twenty six thousand naira.

Radio Nigeria followed the matter up, which led to the security agents apprehending the accused woman and charging her for assault.

Meanwhile the victim, Precious Nwali who hails from Ebonyi state, has been handed over to her biological parents after the police contacted them.
