December 1 DEADLINE: NYSC URGES CORPS MEMBERS TO TAKE COVID -19 VACCINATION

REPORTER: AMECHI ODO

The Director General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, has called on corps members to urgently take COVID-19 vaccination as Federal Government’s order on presentation of evidence of vaccination to access public office from December 1, may apply to them at the places of their primary assignment.

Brigadier General Ibrahim made the call at the swearing in of 2021 Batch B Stream Two Corps members at the Permanent Orientation Camp Old McGregor College Afikpo.

Represented by the Coordinator of the Scheme in Ebonyi State, Mrs. Mercy Bamai, the Director General explained that the NYSC management was in touch with relevant authorities to ensure that the vaccine was made available to the corps members and urged them to observe all protocol to stay safe.

The NYSC boss warned the corps members against indulging in cult activities and other unwholesome practices, noting that they were deliberately posted out of their states of origin to enable them to have better understanding of the country.

1,606 corps members were sworn in during the ceremony.
