The Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Operations Unit, Zone C Owerri now has a new comptroller.

He is Mr. Yusuf Lawal, who took over from Mr. Kayode Olusemire.

In a statement by the Zonal Public Relations Officer, Mr. Jerry Attah, the new Zonal Comptroller urges the personnel to keep up with their anti smuggling operations and prevent loss of government revenue from under declaration and false declaration to evade duty payment.

The statement says that under the new Comptroller, the zone will continue to act tough against smugglers by getting them arrested and their wares seized.

It also advises the business community in Zone C to be compliant in their import and export dealings, noting that the forthcoming Yuletide and beyond will be tough for smugglers.

The statement also seeks the support and consolidation of existing synergy with sister security agencies in the anti-smuggling fight.

The Customs Service, Federal Operating Unit Zone C is comprised of eleven states in South South and South East zones of the country.
