COVID-19: GOV. UZODINMA ORDERS CLOSURE OF ALL SCHOOLS IN IMO

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has ordered the immediate closure of all primary, secondary and tertiary institutions in the state as part of measures to prevent the spread of the corona virus known as covid-19.  In a state broadcast to the people, the Governor said a committee headed by Professor Maurice Iwu had been inaugurated with adequate resources set aside to ensure that the state remained free of the virus.

Governor Uzodinma said adequate steps had been taken to ensure that passengers using Sam Mbakwe Cargo Airport Owerri would undergo necessary health checks. He announced that a quarantine centre had been equipped for people with suspected cases of the virus.

Governor Uzodinma stated that a state of the art ambulance with test facilities had been procured and called on residents not to panic but to adopt good hygienic practices to remain healthy. He gave an assurance that effort would not be spared to ensure that the state remained free of the covid-19 disease.
