CONTRIBUTE TO BETTERMENT OF YOUR HOST COMMUNITIES: GOV UZODIMMA TELLS CORPS MEMBERS

The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has reassured National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Members deployed to the state of adequate security and enhanced welfare during and after their orientation course.

He gave the assurance during the opening of the orientation course for this year’s “Batch A Stream One” Corps Members taking place at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Eziama Obaire, Nkwerre Local Government Area of the state.

Governor Uzodimma, while welcoming the young graduates to the state, challenged them to remain dedicated, disciplined, and resourceful at all times.

He also enjoined them to imbibe the objectives of the NYSC and make deliberate efforts to promote and sustain national unity and Integration.

The Governor stressed the need for corps members to make the best use of the activities of the orientation course, put in their best in their places of primary assignment and contribute their quota towards the betterment of their host communities.

The State Coordinator of the NYSC, Mrs. Rachel Idaewor, expressed gratitude to the Governor for his show of love and magnanimity to the scheme.

She identified approval of the payment of #10,000 monthly stipends to corps members serving in the state, regular release of meal subsidies to augment the feeding of the Corps Members during the orientation courses and the approval of the release of the Nkwerre General Hospital Complex in Eziama Obaire to the NYSC in the state to ease accommodation challenges and provide health care to both those in the camp and the community.

The NYSC Oath of Allegiance were administered to the 980 (nine hundred and eighty) Corps Members on camp by the representative of the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Chinyere Okereke.
