COMMITTEE ROLLS OUT PROGRAMMES FOR ABIA @ 32

Abia residents have been urged to sustain their support for the present administration to set goals in the state as all is set for the celebration of Abia at 32.

Speaking at a media briefing at the Government House Umuahia, as part of activities to mark Abia anniversary, the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Kenneth Kalu, announced that the theme of the event is “Abia: Hitting The Reset Button:
committed to lifting the people from poverty.”

He said the government is creating a better state where things would work for everyone, including healthcare, education and functional infrastructure.

The SSG noted that the weeklong event would feature visits to the less privileged and orphanage homes across the three senatorial zones by the wife of the Governor, Mrs. Priscilia Otti, where livelihood materials would be distributed

Contributing, a member of the Abia Anniversary Organizing Committee and Commissioner for Information and Culture, Prince Okey Kanu, said the theme of this year’s Abia Day celebration is apt and the present administration had a different approach to governance, unique from what it used to be.
