COMMISSIONER’S DEATH: ENUGU STATE GOVT COMMISERATES WITH EKWEREMADU FAMILY

The Enugu State Government has expressed sadness about the death of the Commissioner for Transport, Chief Mathias Ekweremadu Junior, who died on Thursday, February 4, 2021 while in active service.

In a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Chief Chidi Aroh, the state government condoled the family of the late Ekweremadu, the people of Aninri Local Government Area and Enugu State.

This came on the heels of the State Governor’s visitation, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi along side top government functionaries to commiserate with the family of the late Commissioner at his Enugu residence where they met the wife, Stella and the children.

According to the statement by the Information Commissioner, late Ekweremadu was as an astute politician and Community leader who served at various times as Chairman Aninri Local Government Area, a member Enugu State House of Assembly, before his appointment as Commissioner for Transport.

The delegation prayed the Almighty God to grant the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the painful loss and grant his soul eternal rest. 

The statement indicated that the Governor was accompanied by his Deputy, Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Chief Edward Ubosi, other members of the House and the State Executive Council.
