Coal City FM RESUMES NORMAL BROADCAST SERVICES

Coal City FM, Enugu resumed normal broadcast services after almost two weeks of disruption in transmitting its programmes. The disruption in normal services followed the destruction of cables worth millions of naira by vandals at its Transmitting Station on Milliken Hill Ngwo, Enugu.

Speaking on the development, the Deputy Director, Engineering Services, Engineer Ote Nwokpoku and Head of Engineering and Mr. Francis Enemor Head Coal City FM commended the efforts of the Zonal Director in ensuring the Station was brought back to life.

The Zonal Director, Mr. Ike Okere stated that it was unfortunate that the criminals attacked the equipment a day after it was replaced. He said some members of the gang had been apprehended and were helping the Police in their investigations to arrest their accomplices.

He regretted the inconveniences the disruption had caused the Station’s audience during the period it was out of service. The news for the full broadcast services was received with great excitement by members of staff.

It would be recalled that one of the Station’s broadcast channel, Radio One, which transmit on Medium Wave had been out of service about ten months after some of its vital equipment were vandalized.
