CAN CHAIRMAN’s THANKSGIVING: BISHOP TELLS FG TO RESTORE HOPE IN LEADERSHIP

The Auxiliary Bishop, Catholic Diocese of Enugu, the Most Reverend Ernest Obodo, has emphasised the need for Nigerians to be united in the face of the current security challenges confronting the country.

The Most Reverend Obodo, who is the Vice Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Enugu Chapter, stated this at the 25th Priestley Ordination Thanksgiving of the Chairman of the Council, the Reverend Emmanuel Edeh, held at Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Enugu.

Bishop Obodo called on Nigerians to be steadfast in prayers in the face of the current economic hardship.

The high priest, however, urged the Federal Government to restore the hope of Nigerians in the leadership and stop killings in the country.

In a speech, the CAN Chairman, Enugu State Chapter, the Reverend Emmanuel Edeh, called on Christians to cultivate the spirit of thanksgiving to attract more blessings from God.

The Reverend Edeh, who was recently appointed, Chairman, Enugu State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, expressed gratitude to God and the Governor for the appointment, noting that gratitude remained the best channel to attract favours from God.

The CAN State Chairman, who is a member, Enugu State #EndSARS administrative panel of inquiry, also thanked God at the service for ten years of marriage.

The Executive Secretary, Enugu State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Chief Nestor Ezema, emphasised the importance of patience in the life of a Christian, stressing that the current state of things in the country required fervent prayers from the faithful.

For the Chairman, Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN), Enugu State and Methodist Archbishop of Enugu Archdiocese, the Most Reverend Christopher Edeh, there were great benefits in thanksgiving, and encouraged Christians to continue with such spirit.

The event attracted other top leadership of Christian bodies in Enugu State, including Bishop Obi Onubogu, who is the Leader, Christian Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, (CPFN) in Enugu State.
