ANAMBRA ASSEMBLY PLEDGES TIMELY LEGISLATIVE BUSINESS AS LP, YPP GET PRINCIPAL OFFICERS

The Anambra State House of Assembly says it will ensure punctuality during its legislative business.

The Speaker, Mr. Somtochukwu Udeze, stated this while presiding over the first sitting of the 8th Assembly plenary.

According to the Speaker, the House of Assembly has the collective resolve to contribute meaningfully to the peace, unity and development of the state through law making, oversight and effective representation.

Mr. Udeze therefore called on critical stakeholders and concerned citizens to give the 8th Assembly the necessary support to perform creditably.

The Speaker, who noted that “punctuality is the soul of business,” stated categorically that the 8th Assembly would be commencing plenary each day at 10am and will also be sitting more regularly in order to give the due considerations to legislative activities.

He enjoined the staff of the legislative arm to take note and key into the new order for improved productivity.

Mr. Udeze, after welcoming his colleagues, read a letter from members of the minority political party, which listed principal officers.

Mr. Jonhnbosco Akaegbobi representing Nnewi South constituency One under Young Progressives Party (YPP) was nominated the Minority Leader while Paul Chukwuka of Labour Party (LP) emerged the Minority Whip.
