ANAMBRA ASSEMBLY DRUMS SUPPORT FOR OBIANO LEGACY PROJECTS

The Anambra State House of Assembly has reiterated its commitment to ensure completion and delivery of all the legacy projects of the present administration in the state.

The Speaker of the House, Mr. Uche Okafor, stated this during an inspection of the on-going construction of the International Conference Center (ICC) at Agu Awka.

Mr. Okafor described the lCC as one of the legacies of the Governor Obiano led administration.

He mentioned the Cargo Airport and the Awka Millennium Stadium as other legacy projects of the present administration and pledged their sustenance.

The Speaker noted that the project (ICC) when completed, would enhance employment for the youths and promote economic activities in the state.

The Commissioner for Housing, Mr. Mike Okonkwo, remarked that the building was designed to accommodate ten thousand people, adding that the property had other ancillary programme outlets apart from the main auditorium.

The state Consultant for the project, Mr. lfeanyichukwu Okoma, noted that there had been no report of accident or near mishap since work began due to high level of safety measures in force at the project site.

Mr. Okoma asked for more funding to enable the contractor complete the edifice as sheduled.

The Chairman, House Committee on Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Lawrence Ezeudu, and some of his colleagues in the state Assembly were also part of the inspection team.
