ANAMBRA ASSEMBLY CONSIDERS TWO MORE COMMISSIONER NOMINEES

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has approached the state assembly for confirmation of two additional commissioner nominees.

The Speaker of the House, Mr. Somtochukwu Udeze, while presiding over plenary on Wednesday, read out the governor’s letter seeking the consideration of Mrs. Bervely Nkemdiche Ikpeazu and Mr. Izuchukwu Okafor as commissioners in his cabinet.

The Speaker later referred the letter to the committee on Screening, which was mandated to report back to the house on the next adjourned date.

The Chairman of the Committee and Deputy Speaker, Mr. Chukwuma Okoye promised that they would do a good job.

One of the Commissioner nominees, Mrs. Bervely Ikpeazu was the only female legislator in the midst of thirty law makers of the past seventh Anambra in the state.

Meanwhile, the Assembly in a resolution commended Governor Soludo for renaming the Anambra International Passenger and Cargo Airport after the late literary icon, Professor Chinua Achebe, who hailed from Ogidi in Idemili North Local Government Area of the state.
