56 SUSPECTED CULTISTS IN ANAMBRA STATE POLICE IN NET

The Special Anti Cultism Squad of the Nigeria Police in Anambra State has arrested fifty six suspected cultists from various parts of the State.

Similarly, the Commissioner of police in the State, Mr Garba Umar has directed the immediate and aggressive manhunt  of members, including the sponsors of cult activities in the area.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr Haruna Mohammed who made this known to newsmen, said thirteen of the suspects were apprehended in Ogidi and Nkpor axis while ten suspects were arrested in Ihiala.

Mr Mohammed noted that out of the fifty six suspects, seven were also apprehended within Awka while eight were arrested in Enugwu Ukwu and environs.

According to him, thirty eight of the suspects who confessed to their level of involvement were charged to court.

The Police Public Relations Officer confirmed that eighteen persons were being investigated and advised parents to caution their children to refrain from indulging in cultism and other nefarious activities.
