28 YEAR OLD MAN IN ANAMBRA POLICE NET FOR ALLEGE RAPE OF 36 YEAR OLD LADY

A twenty-eight year old man has been arrested by Police Command in Anambra State for allegedly raping a thirty-six year old woman.

The suspect, Emeka Okeke popularly known as Aso Rock, after following the woman, threatened to shoot her with a toy gun if she did not submit herself to his sexual demand.

A statement by the Police Public Relations (PPRO) in the state, Mr. Haruna Muhammed, explained that the frightened woman not knowing that it was not a real gun, followed the suspect to a building in Okochi, Okpuno where he forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

The statement indicated that while the woman was being led out of the scene, the suspect again took her to Community Primary School Okpuno where he raped the woman the second time.

Following the report, police detectives in conjunction with vigilance group in Okpuno trailed and arrested the suspect where they instantly discovered the handle of a cutting saw, which was what he used as shotgun to rape the woman. The statement further indicated that the suspect, upon interrogation, voluntarily confessed to the alleged crime.

It noted that the victim had been taken to hospital for medical examination and treatment . The Statement confirmed that the suspect recently returned from the Correctional Centre in Awka over an alleged case of Manslaughter.

It added that the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr. John Abang had ordered immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Awka for thorough investigation after which the suspect would be arraigned in court for prosecution.
