11 SUSPECTS NABBED BY POLICE IN ENUGU STATE

Police in Enugu State have arrested eleven suspects for various offences.

The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Suleiman Balarabe made this known during a press briefing in his office in Enugu.

According to Mr. Balarabe the suspects were apprehended by his men on different occasions while they were preparing to embark on some illegal actions including cult activities.

The Enugu Police boss pointed out that the Command having stepped up its level of operation was able to arrest three suspects in connection with the kidnap of one Reverend Father Lazarus Opeyemi on  Nsukka road.

He also stated that investigation was ongoing in the case of the Reverend Father Clement Ugwu who was kidnapped and murdered by some unknown persons.

Mr. Balarabe who lamented the rate of possession of arms in recent times warned that the Command would not hesitate to bring persons committing unlawful acts to book.

Some items recovered from the suspects include AK 47 rifles, sub machine guns pump action, axe, locally made pistol and five rounds of point nine mm ammunition with twenty-five live cartridges.
