NLC SUSPENDS STRIKE

The organized labour has suspended its four day old warning strike declared on the 26th of this month.

All striking workers are therefore enjoined to return to work as from Monday.

The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, announced the suspension during a news conference in Abuja.

Comrade Wabba said the leadership of the organized labour received a formal invitation for the resumption of the tripartite committee scheduled for this Thursday and expressed the hope that all issues surrounding the new national minimum wage would be resolve at the reconvened meeting.

While expressing appreciation to all trade & industrial unions, state chapters of NLC and TUC as well as allies and affiliates of the the NLC for their cooperation during the strike, the NLC President urged them to direct their members to resume work accordingly.

Comrade Wabba pledged to work with other labour leaders to sustain the tempo of the struggle for a timely conclusion of the work and implementation of the new minimum wage for workers.
