FRCN ENUGU NATIONAL STATION WELFARE ASSOCIATION TO PROVIDE LOANS FOR MEMBERS

The Staff Welfare Scheme of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Enugu National Station has resolved to embark on schemes that will enhance the quality of life of members of staff.

It was part of resolutions reached at the 2018 Annual General Meeting of the Association held at Sam Nwaneri Event Centre, Radio Nigeria Enugu.

The resolution, which included provision of staff loans to members, followed a deliberation on how to manage the surplus of fund after payment of entitlements.

One of the members of staff, Mr. Nduka Obikwelu, who suggested the provision of soft loans to members of staff, noted that the gesture would be of great help to the workers.

The house also resolved to suspend sections A and B of article 21 of the constitution of the scheme, which bordered on death entitlements, because of its ambiguity.

Earlier in an address, the Chairperson of the Staff Welfare Scheme, Mrs. Joy Udodi, maintained that the scheme would continue to prioritize the welfare of staff both in life and death.

Mrs. Udodi, who assumed office this year, enumerated the achievements of the Scheme.

They include stoppage of excess deductions for a bank loan on members of staff and payment of entitlement.

Mrs. Udodi called for continuous support of members to enable the executive to actualize the aims and objectives of the scheme.

Some members of Staff from Enugu, Awka, Abakaliki, Owerri, Nsukka and Umuahia, who are members of the welfare association, commended executive of the welfare scheme for their transparency and inclusiveness.
