Coal City FM, 92.9 Enugu Gets New General Manager

Camera 360Joy Ngozi Obitulata was born on the 26th of July, 1967 in Umuahia.  She is the 1st daughter of late Rev. Nathan Udeze Obitulata and Rev. Mrs. Jenny Chinwe Udeze Obitulata nee Eze of Abo Umuori, Enugu-Agu Achi in Oji River LGA of Enugu State.

Her early education started at Romans Primary School Umuahia, School Road Primary School Umuahia, and Community Primary School Umumba Enugu Agu Achi where she had her nursery and primary education from 1974 – 1980.

She later attended Sedes Sapeintrie Girl’s College Oghe for her secondary education between 1980 and 1983.  She later changed to Girls High School Inyi where she completed her secondary education in 1985.

She proceeded to do a 3 year Diploma Programme in Music Education from 1987 – 1990 at University of Nigeria Nsukka.  She later obtained a Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication from Our Saviour’s Institute of Science, Agriculture and Technology (OSISATECH) Polytechnic Enugu after which she had her Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication from Madonna University Okija in 2008.

In January 1992, she was employed as a Music Teacher at Boy’s High School Inyi, Oji River LGA and later in March 1992 re-posted to community Secondary School Iva-Valley Enugu as a Music Teacher.  This relocation enabled her to enroll in various professional choirs including the famous FRCN Choir.  Her active participation in FRCN Choir increased her interest in working with Radio Nigeria and she took advantage of the job opportunity available to apply.  She joined the services of Radio Nigeria in November 1992 as a Music Producer II GL.8.

She produced and presented many programmes on Radio e.g Coal City at Dawn, an early morning chit-chat programme, Tuesday Express, Pop round the world, Saturday Vibes, Family favourite, Listeners Choice, Ihe nmenme, Highlife Maestro, Concert Hall, Such is life, The Eves, Our Music, Diva Express, Achi Ishi L’abo a dialectal programme

Joy Ngozi Obitulata is currently the Director FRCN National Choir.  She has composed over 50 unpublished songs and choruses.  She has two music Albums to her credit “Pump Agbabago and Freedom.  She composed the theme song for children programme in Igbo on Coal City FM aimed at promoting Igbo language among young people.  “Bia K’anyi sua Asusu Igbo”.

She also composed the theme song for the programme  “The Polls”.  She built numerous corporate jingles.

In 2008, she received an Award by the “Performing Musician Association of Nigeria (PMAN) as “Music Promoter of the year, while the Communicator Art Forum (CAF) IMT Enugu gave her an Award of Excellence as “Outstanding Broadcaster and Best Assistant Director Programmes FRCN Enugu Zonal Station 2015.

Joy Ngozi Obitulata – Ijomanta is always cheerful, optimistic, hardworking and enthusiastic, adaptable, versatile and excellent team player.

She assumed duty as General Manager Coal City FM on 8th August 2016.  Until now.

She is happily married to Mazi Kenrick Chidike Ijomanta of Amanagwu village Arochukwu in Abia State and they are blessed with four children two boys and two girls.
