NLC BLAMES NIGERIA’S BRAIN DRAIN ON POOR CONDITION OF SERVICE

The President, Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) Comrade Ayuba Waba, says Nigeria as a country is saddled with a poor working conditions, which has occasioned brain drain syndrome.

Comrade Ayuba Waba made the remark during the 2019 National  Leadership Retreat of the Congress held in Enugu.

This year’s Leadership retreat was the forth in the series, which attracted the heads of the labour congress across the nation.

According to the NLC President, the forum affords Leadership of the body at all levels to discuss and proffer paragmatic solutions to the challenges of the present and future concerning the Nigerian worker.

Comrade Waba said that the struggle to address the daunting challenges in the Nigerian workforce, which had been exacerbated in the evolving dynamics in the world of work, was paramount in today’s society.

The NLC President emphasised the need for continuous training to improve the workforce to enable the Nigerian worker to embrace the growing trend in technology occasioned by globalization.

In a remark, the Enugu State Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, reiterated his administration’s commitment to pay priority attention to the welfare of the state workers.

The retreat had its theme as “Strategic Leadership and New Challenges in the Future of Work.”
