ENUGU STATE GOVERNMENT EMPOWERS OVER 3,000 YOUTHS INVOLVED IN INNOVATIVE PROGRAMMES

Enugu State Government says over three thousand youths have been empowered with various innovative programmes.

The State Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi made this known in a message to the Startup Programme organized by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) in Enugu.

Governor Ugwuanyi, who was represented by the General Manager, Enugu State Investment Development Authority (ESIDA), Mr. Chibuzo Okafor, said that his office had encouraged entrepreneurs in making their ideas a reality through its support system.

The Director General, NITDA, represented by the Director, Corporate Planning and Strategy Department of the organisation, Dr. Collins Agu, stress on the need to integrate innovation into the moribund industries in the state.

In an interview with some of the participants, who were mostly students, they said that their major aim was to fill a yawning gap in the areas of Power, agriculture and health through their innovations.

Various startup teams that took part in the Program went home with financial benefits to support their businesses.
