200 TRADERS IN ENUGU SMILE HOME WITH ₦50,000 EACH
Six winners have emerged from the Enugu State Traders Empowerment Scheme held at Abakpa Main Market, Enugu East Local Government Area.
The Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, while addressing the traders who gathered to participate in the draw, said the move was to increase the comparative advantage of traders.
He said the fund would aid the State Government’s efforts to reactivate its economy.
The State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mr. Sam Ogbu Nwobodo, revealed that the unique feature of the scheme was that traders were eligible to win in various draws.
According to Mr. Nwobodo unlike in the first phase of the draw, lucky winners must be on ground during the exercise, or else, they stand a chance of losing the spot.
Two winners of the draw at the Abakpa Market expressed their satisfaction with the exercise and prayed for God’s blessings upon the State Governor, whose initiative, they said had impacted positively on the lives of the poor masses.
The Traders Empowerment Scheme was the third draw of the second phase, held simultaneously across fifty four markets in Enugu State.
Two hundred winners went home with fifty thousand Naira each.
